Welcome to the Space Coast

About the MelBeach.org domain

I’ve wanted to live near the ocean for as long as I can remember. While visiting the Space Coast to witness the final Space Shuttle launch in 2011, my family and I visited the "Sand on the Beach" restaurant in Melbourne Beach. I instantly fell in love with the area’s laid-back, "Old Florida" feel.

In 2025, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, my wife and I decided to make the dream permanent. What started as a search for a vacation home led us to the perfect property during our very first session with a realtor. Within a month, we were moving in!

About the FoundSalt.com domain

In his classic hit "Margaritaville," Jimmy Buffett sang about "searchin' for my lost shaker of salt." For me, that search represented a lifelong quest for a home by the sea. By finally finding my place here in Melbourne Beach, I didn't just find a house—I found the missing salt.

"Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call. Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall."

— Jimmy Buffett, A Pirate Looks at 40

This call has been a constant rhythm in my life. Standing on the shores of Melbourne Beach, I realize that the ocean wasn't just a destination, but a homecoming. FoundSalt.com is my way of sharing that journey and the peace that comes with finally answering the call.

About the A1A.space domain

The story of A1A begins in the quiet "Old Florida" era—a time of maritime hammocks and salt-crusted fishing piers where the horizon was defined only by the Atlantic tide. This rugged heritage laid the foundation for the "Island Escapism" that Jimmy Buffett famously championed. In 2024, the Florida Legislature officially designated this stretch of asphalt as the Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway. It’s a route where the grit of original Florida pioneers meets the laid-back rhythm of the surf, creating a timeless corridor for those looking to leave mainland worries behind.

As the highway winds into the Space Coast, the masts of shrimp boats give way to the towering gantries of Cape Canaveral. A1A.space captures this unique intersection where the coastal winds that filled the sails of explorers now cool the engines of modern rockets. It is the digital bridge between the sand under our feet and the stars above—a place where we celebrate a slow-paced history while standing on the frontline of human exploration. Whether it’s a vintage sunset or a futuristic liftoff, it all happens right here on A1A.
